List of Homes

Interactors,

Listed below are the list of homes that all of you are going to be attached to.
There is website after each home, you can go online and see what they look like.

We are going to divide yourself into a several group and within each group, you should figure out the schedule to visit the home (you can do rotation).
The group list will be out by next club meeting (Wednesday, 13 January 2010).

Please be responsible of the home that you are going to be attached to and do your best community service there!


1) Whispering Hearts FSC

Reading books to the children.

Sessions are held on Saturdays from 11:30am – 1:00 pm.


2) Rotary Ayer Rajah Student’s Care Center

Helping out with the student care centre.


3) Canossaville Children's Home

Tuition, befriending the children.


4) LIFE community services society

Friends of children programme (to befriend children whose parents are in jail)

Requires commitment of one year


5) Bethesda

Elderly Services (not sure if we’re up to it?)

· Befriender to provide practical help such as cleaning the homes of the elderly, acompanying the elderly for medical appointments, visiting the elderly regularly and build friendships with them.

· Meals Delivery Helper to assist in sorting out meals and accompanying the staff to deliver meals to the elderly.

Children Services

· Reading buddy to read with children below the ages of 8.

· Organiser for children's games and activities, especially during the school holidays.


6) FSC Care Corner (Queenstown)

Urbanbees Tuition and Mentoring Programme

· To tutor, befriend and mentor primary one to six children from needy families on a once a week basis at 2 hrs per session.

· Timing: Tuesday or Thursday, 3.00pm - 5.00pm. (6 months commitment, Jan-Jul or Jul-Dec)

Kids’ Alpha-Zee Club/Reading Programme

· Group work for self-esteem and character development on a once a week basis at 1.5 hr per session.

· Timing: Wednesdays, 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Children/Youth Programme - Indoor Game Facilitators

· To facilitate indoor games on a once a week basis at 1.5 hr per session.

· Timing: Wednesdays, 3.00pm - 5.00pm

Children/Youth Programme - Outdoor Activities Facilitators and Helpers

· To organise and facilitate outdoor games on a once a week basis at 2.5 hr per session.

· Timing: Fridays, 2.30pm - 5.00pm (outdoor)

Children/Youth Programme - Skills Workshop Facilitators

· To organise and facilitate skills workshops on a once a week basis at 1 hr per session.

· Timing: Wednesdays, 2.30pm - 4.00pm
